Each home combines timeless architecture, local materials and bioclimatic design to create naturally comfortable spaces with privacy, open views and a strong connection to the landscape. On-site renewable energy and storage, resilient water systems, wastewater treatment and reuse, and composting provide lasting autonomy while reducing the home’s environmental footprint.

Across greenhouses, cropland, orchards, food forests and pastures, each Upupa Land grows and raises a diverse supply of nutrient-dense vegetables, herbs, fruit, berries, nuts, grains, legumes, mushrooms, honey, eggs, dairy and meat. Produce is prepared, preserved, processed and stored on site, with barns, workshops, cold and dry storage, granaries and dedicated equipment supporting a varied, nourishing and pleasurable diet throughout the seasons.

Life at Upupa balances privacy and connection, with walking and cycling trails, natural pools, spaces for rest and nature observation, a gym, a winter sauna and a summer cold plunge. Fireplaces, peaceful coworking and library spaces, workshop and class studios, and indoor–outdoor kitchens and gathering areas create opportunities to cook, learn, celebrate and spend time together, always by choice.
Team Upupa
We are expert operators, bringing together farmers, gardeners, orchard growers, foresters, shepherds and beekeepers to care for the land and animals; food artisans to prepare, transform and preserve harvests, milk and meat; engineers and technicians to manage water and energy systems and repair equipment; and concierges, hospitality managers, housekeepers and groundskeepers to welcome residents and guests and maintain our amenities.
